Spain is leading an international initiative to adapt ports to the XXI century challenges. Ports 4.0 launches the largest open space for logistics-port innovation with hundreds of technological proposals. Major Mediterranean ports such as Algeciras, Valencia or Barcelona are joining this initiative.

The Ports 4.0 equity fund is the corporate open innovation model adopted by the Spanish State Port Authorities to attract, support and facilitate the application of talent and entrepreneurship to the Spanish public and private ports sector, within the context of 4th industrial revolution.

The main target of the Fund is to actively promote and incorporate disruptive or incremental innovation as a competitiveness, efficiency, sustainability, security and protection element, in the Spanish public and private logistics-ports sector, to facilitate its transition towards economy 4.0.

This initiative will enhance disruptive projects, research & development initiatives and verticals of interests that will boost not only ports but also logistics and a whole range of sectors and industries.

TEC Container is participating in this initiative which is supported by the Spanish Government and the National Port Authority “Puertos del Estado”. More than 470 projects have been presented, related with lifting, safety and automation of systems, vehicles, and processes.

Only a new way of seeing, working and relate with the different agents of the sector will lead to success in the post Covid-19 era. Only companies that bet for new technologies will be able to keep the pace of competition. Only organizations that have a digital culture and that are eager to grow will be allowed to stay in such a complex environment. Only teams that dream with the future can shape it. Port Industry moves fast… very fast… Are you ready to run?
